Game Rules
Courtesy Runner: a courtesy runner will be allowed for pitchers and catchers. And this will be required for catchers with 2 outs. The courtesy runner must be a player that is not already in the game or the player who made the last out only if there is no other available players on you roster.
DH & EH: Teams will be allowed to use both a DH and up to 3 EHs. If a DH enters the game defensively, the DH will be eliminated for the rest of the game. The EHs may be used as defensive substitutions but must remain in their position in the batting order. The player he replaces in the field will in turn become an EH.
In the event of an injury and there are zero eligible players left on the bench, and a team is using an EH or EH & DH (meaning using 10 players in the batting order) the automatic out rule will NOT be in effect. You may simply skip the injured players spot in the order. However, if a team is playing with 9 players only (and zero eligible subs) the automatic out rule will be enforced.
Pitching Restrictions: Coaches are responsible for the health of their player’s arms. Please use common sense.
In Game Tie Breakers: Any game that enters into the 9th inning will go into the hurry up mode. The last batted out of the previous inning will start at 2nd base with no outs. This will continue until a winner has been determined or any applicable time limit has elapsed. In pool play, the game will result in a tie. In Championship Play, we continue until a winner is determined.
In Championship and Consolation play, the higher seed will always be home team until the Championship or Consolation Final. Then a coin flip will determine home team.
Other than what is stated above, all tournament games will abide by the NFHS rules. NO jewelry will be allowed to be worn during a TPT event.
Team Advancement
The team with the best record in each pool will advance into Championship Play. In the event of a tie, head to head results will determine the Pool Champion. If the teams involved in a tie have not all played each other and head to head cannot be used, the following stats (in the same order) will be used in order to determine which team will advance: runs allowed, runs scored, and run differential. If there is still a tie, we will go to a coin flip to determine a winner. (In a three way tie, once the first team advances we will always revert back to head to head play as the determining factor with the two remaining teams.)
Tournament Policies
Inclement Weather: games will be considered “official” after 4 innings of play (3.5 if the home team is winning). All final scores will be recorded on the last FULL INNING of play if game is suspended for any reason.
In the event of a rain out, that game will be either pushed back or cancelled. The teams that are scheduled to play the following game should be ready to play at their scheduled time.
Please understand that we cannot control Mother Nature, and she could cause the cancellation of games. Our tournament staff will do everything possible to keep games on schedule and get all teams as many games as the weather permits.
In the event of some game cancellations, the official tournament record of all teams will only be reflected by the total number of games that the teams who had games canceled. Example: If one team in a pool only played 4 games, we will only use the first 4 games of all teams in that pool to determine a Pool Champion. Any game 5 by any team in that pool will not count toward pool standings or tie breaker standings.
Teams will receive a 70% refund of all tournament fees if the entire tournament is cancelled and zero games are played due to weather.
Teams will receive a 100% refund of all tournament fees if the tournament is cancelled by Triple Play Tournaments for any reason other than weather.
Once a team’s game 2 has begun, there will be no refunds.
Teams that withdraw from the tournament 60 days prior will receive a 100% refund. Teams that withdraw after the 60 day grace period will not be entitled to a refund unless that teams spot can be replaced by another team. There will be no refunds 30 days prior to tournament start date.
Gate fees and or registration fees are non-refundable.
